There are smaller meets in NE quite frequently, feel free to set one up yourself, or join any of the others that get posted. The Mid-Atlantic meet is usually huge...last year there were over 100 cars I believe. And Penn. is only like 6 hours away...not that bad. Last time all the NE people went in a caravan and use 2-way radios to talk on the way....

I'm from Shrewsbury (near Worcester). Meets happen quite a lot. Just look through some of the past threads to read about some of them.
A lot are in CT, but also in MA. Some in NH. Actually, a lot in NH too. I guess we're spread out pretty evenly across those states. Some in RI.
Anyway, as a newbie to this site I'de suggest first attending one of the meets set up by a seasoned member. Then as more people get to know you, you will be able to set up a meet and most of the people you know will attend.
I'm always down to meet new people, so stay tuned for one of my meets.
As for the whole Mid-Atlantic Meet... It's a hell of a drive, but probably worth it for you 'cause there is a lot to see. You would pretty much get a good introduction to 7th gen Civics and their owners. Then again, having nobody to talk to that you know out there can be weird. Hmm... I would attend some smaller meets first.
