Not being negative or hating...just realistic. I seriously don't see the point in racing or showing economy cars, and I pretty much get annoyed at the attitude of the average person that mod our class of cars. ( no offense to anyone here )

I really don't get any thrills watching Sunfires, Cavaliers, Neons, and Civics race. And i'm certainly not going to pay to watch it.

When we have a meet it's one thing, but it almost feels retarded to "show" a $14k car to "other" people. ::shrugs:: I'm sure this is going to **** some of you off, sorry about that, but it's just how I feel on the whole matter.

if you bought a brand new civic and brought it to the import wars show right from the dealer(bone stock) it would be better than the cavs and sunfires. so dont be ashamed to show a 14K car.

These guys have worked hard to put money into their cars to make them different, just like you. Just because your interest lies in making yourself deaf and annoying others with the typical loud sound system doesn't mean that they can't make their cars into what they want.

Neither you nor Havok see the point into making these cars fast. I don't see the point into pumping in thousands of watts into a sound system that will very rarely be used to it's capacity. Why did you spend $6,000 for your sound system? So that you can play music that every car in a line of traffic going 70mph can hear? I doubt it...it's because you want to have something to brag about...which you take every opportunity to do. If MadWheel and other "performance" guys want to go to the track and race...let them. If you have something negative to say why don't you just go out to your car and turn up your $5,000,000 stereo system...

Yeah I bought a cheaper car so I could afford to modify it. It'd rather have my Civic with all the mods than some other STOCK, and boring (to me) more expensive car.

As PhatChevy said, it's all what we choose to spend our money on. Keep in mind I never say anything bout your sound system. .

I can appreciate work put into a civic to make it look good, or "fast" however, as I said, I just don't see the point in SHOWING it, because I can see the same car on the street, and one out of every 4 on the street that I see has a bodykit, rims, exhaust, all that stuff. Thats why I don't like import shows, there's just nothing all that special about it to me. Even turbo imports, I see a turbo 5th or 6th gen every couple weeks or so, and while they are fast for a civic, or for the economy class of cars, I see 12 second vettes and camaros on the street every week. I just don't get impressed by 13 second civics, i'm sorry. It's cool and all, and I respect the work put into it, but it's just not my thing.

As far as my stereo is concerned, I realize most of you probably think I waste money on it, and if you think that, your entitled to your opnion on it. However, i've heard most of you talk about how you want your stereo louder, etc, etc. so don't start on me about it. Especially you Joe, you've gone through like 6 revisions of yours I had half my eqipment in my Jeep, and I do it for MY enjoyment, not for rocking a line of cars. If I wanted a blockrocker system, I would have four audiobahn 15's in a bandpass box and 2k watts of rockford power. Also, all my audio investments, with the exception of fatmat and other sound deadeners, are fully transferable to any other vehicle I purchase.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy our meets and hanging out with you guys, working on the cars, whatever it is we do, I just more than likely won't be joining people at a track. I'll probably be hosting an installfest again once it warms up, so hopefully you don't all hate me now, and will still attend.

Also, careful on the stereo comments. I seem to remember a pretty impressive system in your Durango that I wish I could have myself. Granted, Brandon's is a bit *excessive*, it still has the same underlying point (better sound quality).....

I never said modding our cars was stupid, I said I didnt see the point in RACING and SHOWING our cars because a. they arent fast, and b. they arent all that nice. How does that make me a hypocrite? I don't do either of the things I said I dont like. Pay attention to what I said before you try and make an a$$ out of me, and don't put words in my mouth.

On a side note, I remember several times when you have chimed in with an equally "worthless" opinion, so don't start with that.

Anyway, i'm done with this topic, it's gotten out of hand in a big way.

Brandon: Just to enlighten you... A 13 second Civic will kick a 12 second vette or camaro *** when put on a track with a lot of twists and turns. It will simply outcorner it 'cause it'll be lighter and have plenty of power in the corners. On the straightaways the vettes and the camaros will play catch-up, but if the track has more turns than straightaways, then the lighter car will win. So... My point is that some people's definition of "fast" is different than yours.

I know that we're talking about drag racing though... I kinda don't see the point in drag racing anyway. Take it to the extreme, and you have a full blown drag car or funny car that runs what it runs due to the technology and engineering thrown into it. In track racing, or baja, or motocross, or autocross the driver is more of an issue than the car. Well, anyway... I'm biased too. I guess the point is that don't push your beliefs on others. I won't do that either. If you love to drag Civics, then go for it. I love the twisties myself.

As you all know my car is being setup for full course racing not drag racing. If you look at the title of this thread, I started it because I want to get the crew back together for a nice lil meet where we can enjoy the nice weather and spend a day doing something.

If you don't want to enter or race so be it, I posted this so we can all meet up again. We all talk about meets but never make definate plans. I'll keep the list updated and any last minute people are welcome to meet up with us. Just PM me for my cell.
