Winter is Coming
So have you guys put on the winter wheels/ snows yet? I'm thinking about doing it next week, but I dread having to put the old firestones back on, they're so pathetic.

I haven't done it yet, but I'm thinking of doing it today. Although... Wait, I'll go check out the weather forecast.
Looks like temperatures won't be low enough to permit any snow. At least not yet. Nah, I'll wait around a little while longer. Say another week or two.
We'll see how the weather holds up. I don't want to put my snow tires on too early 'cause they'll wear out too quickly.

I just put my stock wheels and my new Blizzaks on this morning. There were flurries in my area on Saturday and its supposed to be in the 30s this week, so I didnt want to chance it with my summer tires.
On a related note, I have 4 stock tires for sale. Only about $13,000 miles on them!

still havent put mine on. i really should go to firestone and get some new tires for the steelies. i decided with the bridgestones touranzas LS-Ts instead of winter tires. from the reviews they seem to be good on snow and im thinking i might just ride on those for the rest of the time i have my car. the low profile tires are killing my rims on the crappy roads here.
no way am i getting 17s again.

put my car away yesturday for the winter after that insane yesturday morning here in Lynn Mass. Blizzard conditions around 6:30am in Lynn yesturday. The street became a sheet of ice and it ended up me rear ending this hot chiks car
. Thank god there was no damage to either of our cars. But thats it garaged for the winter.....time to work on my interior, removing all graphics now i need to redesing some new ones...cant wait for next summer already.

the firestones are on. Wow I forgot how much of a difference tires make. Anyhow it was cold and everything kept freezing so it took like 1.5 hours + I painted my calipers/ rotors again. Well it's done and I'm cold.

Well, last night was the first time I really drove since I switched wheels/tires and I noticed a huge difference as well. First, I was on the highway and there was a lot of road noise. Almost sounded as if I had a flat. Was pretty surprised. Second, I can feel a huge weight difference from the 16s to the 15s. The wheels spin so much more quickly and it feels like I'm flying when I'm going over 60 MPH. Also, it feels like I have to steer so much more even to make a small turn. Its like driving a whole new car.
Guess I gotta cut back on taking hard corners.

yeah, i just put my steelies with bridgestone turanzas ls-t's on. even reparking the car feels different. the steering is more loose, and i know the handling isnt gonna be the same with narrower tires. bleh.
i just hope the reviews were accurate and the tires are decent all year long like tirerack said. didnt feel like getting blizzaks cause id have to put another set of tires on the car when i give it back...honda wouldnt like winter tires on the car i dont think.
i guess i have to prepare myself for getting used to the car all over again. maybe it wont be as rough on the bumps with thicker tires tho. hehe
