Post Exhaust

Ok, I've come to you for insights on exhaust. If you have any ideas or opinions just say so in a reply (excluding search old posts). I've been reading back posts in the forum about exhausts and still have some questions because just when it seems like I get my question answered another post contradicts the last one. And yes, I did download exhaust clips, but not hearing them in person is my downfall.

So I've been liking the DC Sports cause of sound and all (gains are minimal like all the rest), but the thing weighs about 50lbs. and is quite pricey. This has lead me to the Greddy exhaust. Has anyone heard or have this one? It sounds nice, low tone to me (via clip) but others say it is loud. Another point is that people say it scrapes on lowered cars. I'm looking to you gus for insights on this and no I don't like the look of those tootsie roll exhausts like HKS (sorry).

Yeah, I'm liking the Greddy also. Too bad the piping isn't stainless steel. That's pretty much the only downfall IMO. I think it weighs a lot too, but not as much as the DC Sports. Sounds nice and low. Not loud I don't think. Although it's meant to be a turbo exhaust. Out of all of the exhaust systems available right now, the Greddy has the best looks IMO. The muffler design is just different enough to be unique and close enough to looking like a toosie roll exhaust to not stand out too much.

i like the exhaust boilermaker got.

thats the link to the thread. dont get the TCS, its too heavy. the greddy looks too big and bulky, youll scrape with it. the scunk2 sounds real nice too. hawk has it, sounded mean when his car was running.

Some discussion on turbo between Boilermaker1 and opto_isolator at the end of that thread.

Where are some sites that I can listen to exhaust sounds. I'm debating on getting a N1 or HKS but HKS doesn't make the piping so. But if anyone out here knows where to get piping with the HKS exhaust let me know so i can order it. Let me know about the site for exhaust sound clips.

Exhaust sound clips link

as for HKS piping, youll have to get that custom done at a shop that does exhaust systems. its a pretty quiet exhaust tho, on the civic, if you keep the resonator. if you take the reso out it gets too loud. if i were you, if you want an exhaust with full piping (cat-back)...im assuming you have an EX because its a bit of a pain finding cat-backs for LX/DX, anyway...i would get the skunk2. it sounds really good. it seems you dont mind having that kind of look, meaning the canister shape, but the skunk is pretty well hidden under there.

you should search next time.
