I haven't heard back from them yet. Maybe the whole thing got processed as a payment with no payment and no points? I'm still waiting for them to get back to me with a date for my hearing. I'll let you guys know what's up when I get something back.

....plus i'll hirer you and give you the easy shifts
heh, if I could get $15 an hour at a McDonalds I would have been working there last summer instead of delivering beer for $10/$12 an hour.
BTW, Mehow, it can take a while for appeals to be processed. When I got my ticket it was like the 3rd week of December, I filed nolo-contendre, sent the fine, and requested a hearing to fight the loss of my license (I was 16). I didnt hear anything from them till the end of Jan, when I received a letter with the court date. So i'm sure you'll get something soon.

Allright, so... I got my court date thingie a while back. I forgot to tell you guys about it. My court date was today. Oct. 22nd, at 2:00PM. The District Court of Lowell. Anyway, I apologized. They told me that it would just be a warning this time.
I'm happy.
I'm also not speeding anymore. It's all because I get more mpg if I ride a little slower. 69mph is my new limit. Sounds k3wl too. LOL

hey, i kno i revived a pretty much dead post but... i recently got a speeding ticket and wuold like any advice on fighting it or any advice period.
details: 81 on a 65 freeway in southern california.
210 freeway for those of you in the area.
the cop said he got me for 83 but wrote 81 on the ticket... also i was borrowing my sisters car and i didn't have insurance. I looked all over the ticket but didn't find anything about insurance written so maybe the cop just let that slide.. is there any way that the judge would know about me not having insurance if it wasn't written on the ticket?

I'm not sure about the insurance, but there's a log book that is read back to you at the hearing. It has whatever the cop wrote down when he stopped you.
All I did was admit that it was my fault, I admitted that I was doing the speed that I was doing, and not the one they had me down for. I also admitted that I'm an idiot. Basically I said that I was sorry and that it wouldn't happen again. Try that.

if you were speeding, just talk to the prosecutor before the hearings begin. usually they just pleabargain with you so you pay for at least something and not fight the ticket. when you pleabargain, say that you dont mind paying the fine, but you dont want points (maybe say it differently, but thats the idea).
dont give them any more information than they already have. if no one mentions insurance, then dont even mention it. if they say something, explain that it was your sisters car and you didnt know where she had it. i think the law is that you have a month to present valid insurance and registration documents and they wont ticket you for it. so just bring the insurance card to court just in case and show them that you had insurance just didnt know where it was...ONLY if they mention it tho.
