R34 Skyling in Houston?

The other nite I followed what looks to me like a geniue R34 White Skyline on Hwy6 from Glen Lakes (In Missouri City) all the way to Bissonet. The rear plate was a Texas one that said "R34 GTR". Looked EXACTALLY like a Skyline...is it one? Anybody else ever see this?

I saw a skyline at import expo 3 here, but I think it was blue. Haven't seen a white one.

I've heard there are 3 or 4 here in Texas. The dead giveaway would be if it was right-hand drive.

Thats the thing, it was left hand drive, but everything else about it was a perfect replication of a skyline. There were so many minute details that were just like the real thing. Badge in the right place, taillights, headlights, bumper, everything....even the turbo. And why else would somebody put that on thier lisence plate unless they have the real thing? Plus, what other 2 door car could be made to exactally resemble a skyline? The only thing I could think of is an Accord...saw one at a car show once with the rear conversion only.

This one was definetly not some kid slapping a bagde on some crap car. This guy was rich, I would tell by the way he looked and his car. Usually the people with custom plates have money.

Maybe, the hood and rims looked different, but the mystery might be solved. If that is indeed it, then we have come across the biggest ricer in the history of the world.

there's actually quite a number of legends converted to r33's and r34's. i've personally seen a red one and a black one. my friend has a purple 95 accord with r34 front and rear conversion, that's even more off the wall. that white one could be a legend, though.

I know of a guy that has one (now). One of my buddies said that last weekend him and a bunch of his friends (all supra owners) went down there to witness a brand new R34 shipped from Japan. It is blue, and when it got off the ship they took it to one of the guys shops and started to hook it up. This is of course, after you started this thread though.

Again..for importing a fresh R34..which not to mention that this model is discontinued on the turbo charge system..now they've started on a supercharger to go with it..haven't driven one of those before..but I knew that it costs like 90 grants just to get it off the ship from Japan to here for a used one..to tell the truth..I'd rather get a 911 or two fairlady Zs..at least when something goes wrong..I won't have to call up my uncle in tokyo ask him to ship any parts from Japan..I'd rather say legal here..lolz.SKYLINE
