my friend got a ticket for parking in a handicapped spot downtown. he was sitting in the car at the time as well. he didn't see any signs or any indication that it was a handicap spot. anyway, he took pix of the spot and is going to court in august. QUESTION: does anyone know how he would be able to contact whoever is in charge of traffic signs and streets and stuff downtown? ie. maybe the ppl that give meter tickets or something...someone who could verify if that was a regular or handicapped spot. any help would be appreciated.
texas law states that it must have a visible sign in front of the spot, the paint underneath the car is not sufficient. and it must me at the front of the spot not along the side. best way to explain it is, when you drive into the spot unless you back in, you should see the sign right in front of you.
