Dolomites Without Wheels: Is It Possible?
Dolomites Without Wheels: Is It Possible?
So I've got my sights set on the Italian Dolomites for next year. Been drooling over this guide: https://www.seanoriordanphotography....ay-autumn-trip. It says renting a car is a must. Any of you done this without renting a car? This will be my first time in Italy, but I heard Italians have a reputation for fast and dangerous driving.
Any tips or experiences would be great! Thanks in advance!

The Dolomites do look absolutely incredible in that guide. While renting a car would give you the most flexibility to explore, I can understand the trepidation about Italian driving if it's not something you're used to. A couple thoughts - you could look into guided hiking/cycling tours that take you between destinations so you don't have to drive yourself. Or consider taking public transit between major towns and bases, then doing day hikes from those accessible points.

Thanks for the suggestions, @Joeyy! I hadn't even considered guided tours or public transit as options. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction - I just found private car tour options on https://gowithguide.com/Italy as an alternative to public transport. I'd definitely be open to having a local expert drive me through the Dolomites, so I can focus on the scenery!
