Raspy Exhaust

I have a 98 Civic Ex with a cold air intake and a megan header. My exhaust has a real deep tone to it except once I get to about 2500rpms it starts to sound raspy. I also have an exhaust tip from Autozone. Would changing the tip make any difference on getting rid of the raspyness as 2500rpms? I was looking at maybe getting the n1 exhaust tip.

Re: Raspy Exhaust

How big is the tip and, more importantly, what muffler do you have? With mufflers and many car parts, the less money you put in, the cheaper they sound.

Re: Raspy Exhaust

I'd get under it and try to figure if the raspiness is coming from somewhere other than the exit area of the exhaust system....as in maybe the resonator came apart inside, heat shields rusted apart and are rattling, cat rattling, loose hardware, broken spring joints, anything like that.
