can i change the location of my catalytic converter

ok so i have a 98 civic cx and i hate that the catalytic converter is attatched to the headers. So is there anyway i change the location of the catalytic converter? but i dont want to spend alot of money to buy new headers and converter and exhaust system. is there another model of civic i can just pull it off and swap it out with mines?

You can but there may be some problems associated with doing this:
1. Moving or modifying an emissions device MAY be illegal. State and Federal laws apply.
2. If you do move it, say farther down the exhaust tubing, you may run into a heat problem- converters get very hot.
3. There is at least one sensor (oxygen?) attached to the converter and depending on where the converter is moved to, the sensor(s) will have to be rewired.
