forget aem, injen
forget aem, injen
Well, iv never used weapon r products, but they are giving cars more HP then ANY other intake, with the dyno sheets to prove it

"This month's featured article comes from "The Lab" and battles intake systems from leading manufacturers laying them down head-to-head. We performed the test on a 1999 Civic Si, and installed each of the systems, resetting the ECU, and then running them on the dyno 3 times. Take a look at what we discovered and which systems were tested, everything from detailed specs, dyno sheets and direct comparisons."

i got injen and i love it. weapon r i'm kinda weary about cuz i've heard a lot of bad stuff about them. I know someone that had an intake from them and the foam filter element got sucked into the intake. it made it to the throttle body but no further. i also know the people at the shop where he bought it. when they found out that happened they didn't hesitate to yank all their products off the shelves.
Plus, i wouldn't trust a foam filter on my car anyways.

well isnt the results of the dyno for a '99 si and not a '01 and up civic??? the si is a diffrent car and cant really compare the two.
anyways, i had a weapon R intake on my old car. i must say its the loudest intake i've ever had.

im not saying that it was for a 7thgen, im just saying, iv its giving a better amount of power, across the rpms, on a 99 si, it would prob close to ours, im not talking about the gains, i mean how well it works, and foam filters are fine, as to it getting sucked into the tube, i dont see how, it has a inner and outter bracket that holds it in place
i disagree...to an extent. with an sri you have to get a heat shield in order for it to maximize its efficiency and purpose. without it you'll be sucking all that hot air up. but with the cold air you have that beautiful wiff of fresh air outside the engine.

Holy Crap! that just caught my eye. uhm ok heat shield covers your filter to 'block' most hot air? doesnt seem to make sense to me. All you are doing is blocking the filter from air entering the side of the filter. HOT air is still being sucked in with or without a heat shield.

for cheap stuff like intakes and strut bars, i have nothing against getting them from a cheaper company like weapon-R. their stuff isn't as bad as ebay junk, and they look good too.
i know a guy with a wepon R intake on his gallant. he claims it adds 30hp....pssshhhh...anyways. but to me it looks like crap. and someone said something about SRIs being better than CAIs? how did you reach that conclusion may i ask?? ive got an AEM, i like it. its great. in mabey a year or two ill swap it for a V2 or whatever theyll have thats better on the market then. until then im keeping what ive got. id probably never get anything other than an AEM or Injen. anything else is just crap.
good point xsr im just saying it reduces most of that hot air that will really kill your flow or go or whatever. but for now im not a guru just a little info that i know so im spitting hot air too :P

I have the K&N FIPK II (LX Auto) and it sounds awesome. It adds a bit more power too, and the nice thing is it comes with a heat shield. I've put my hands on both sides with the engine running and the air is noticeably cooler on the shielded side.
But the corner of the heat shield now has a tiny hole, I'm not sure why but oh well. Plus my filter is covered in stuff it's tried to suck on, like dirt and leaves and dead bugs. It's crazy ...
