Has anyone dynoed anything?
Have any of you dynoed any of your mods? I suppose before and after would be best, but also more expensive. Or, has anyone dynoed their stock Civic? We could compare someone's stock EX to someone's EX with an intake or whatever.
So, yeah... intake, header, exhaust, flywheel, V-AFC, spark plugs, manifolds, any custom work, let's see your results.
Butt dynos do not count
I think this would be a good thread because:
a) You can't trust manufacturer's claims. Even trustworthy companies like K&N lie: they said the FIPK II gives like 14hp and torque on our cars
lease:
b) Those of us interested in performance and not just sound need all the concrete research we can get to help us pick the best parts.
Alright, post away.

Before I bought FIPKII, I looked at their website, and FIPKII gives our cars 4 hp at 6300. (not 14) Just a note
Although would be cool to find out real results...

I would like to see some true dyno results myself....I think clubrsx.com has a forum just for dyno results...I'll be getting my results once I get my intake manifold and throttle body put in my car so I'll keep you guys posted

well obviously 14 hp and 22 tq isn't right.
on K&N's site.. they have a specific page with pictures of the FIPK for particular applications.. and their individual dynos... 4 hp gain in the upper RPM range is more realistic than 14 hp. even then 4 hp is acdtually a huge claim.

i dynoed my car and i know its not 14hp, not even 5hp..maybe like 2 or 3 if its not a hot day.
LOL if that could produce +14 with 22torque, that would be soooo worth 240 dollars, numbers like that bolt ons could compete with nitrous.
I think you could probably pull down about 15 hp to the wheel with bolt ons. Then do a 50 shot of nitrous, we're probably looking at 173 to the wheels. That sounds pretty nice to me. And I dont know that a D17 would like more than a 50 shot, but im sure you could build up its tollerance by building the engine.

Cool.
Alright, let's try to keep this on topic. Has anyone dynoed anything? Come on, post your results!

This should be sticky, and if anyone dynos anything we'll all see that it's updated. Otherwise everyone might forget about it.
It's a good thread for those of us interested in performance.
Huh? What's performance? You mean like how your car sounds

That's rad dude I didn't know that. I just looked at the store and saw all the stuff you can buy with points.

Not Sure if any of you guys have seen the dyno sheats for our cars over at aempower.com I think the baseline numbers are correct but I'm not sure about the numbers with CAI and SRI. If you have an automatic transmission prepare to be depressed.

I didn't know that either
This new points system is awesome.
Sorry for the delay in responding. I'm graduating in 3 weeks and I've been busy with projects and stuff.
We totally need this dyno thread, if not a dyno forum, IMO.

if there are people who have dynoed their car, they would be very very few. reason being is almost no one would waste money to dyno a D17A.
i think that only people with K20's and massive turbo set-up would actually do this...
face it, our cars look very good, they even handle very good (given the right mods). but the motor sucks, there is no hope for that 1.7 liter thing.
a lot of people dont want to admit it, but i have a 7th gen coupe too, and i'm just being honest......

Not necessarily true. They had a portable dyno setup at the Atlanta meet a while back. Several people were signed up for that as far as I know. There are quite a few running nitrous. There have been some reported dyno's of cars with AFC and VAFC, and that sort of thing. There are also people who are actually racing their 7th gens, and who want to see what their mods are really adding to performance. Sooner or later there'll be some charts up on these pages. There's already some dyno sheets and charts on the SF Power turbo threads.
I'll have a lot of work done on my car this summer. I'll have a dyno chart & will post it then. (if i can trust all the manufacturer's claims i should be putting ~150 bhp w/ an NA D17A2 at the wheels) i'm not listing what mods i'll have, as i'm not sure, yet. I'll post it in June
I'm hoping to burn my friend's 2000 civic SI w/ I/H/E & a flywheel then :=)

you dont have to say your mods, but how much do you think it will cost you to run 150 bhp NA? i want to know because cant decide on what to do to my car. i want to stay NA. i dont know whether to modify my D17 or just get a stock K20A3.
