Good HP Quiet Exaust
I am starting to thing of getting an exhaust for my car, but i had a few concernts i thought I would ask everyone here about.
-I want it to be quiet, maybe even without the silencer
-good amount of added HP, what there can be anyways
-as little loss of low end if possible
-one that dosent look like a coffe can making everyone try to race me
mostly just the first 2, but the others are also a factor
I have an EX btw

From everything I've heard, I would recomend DC Sports or Magnaflow, I think they meet your description. Don't get Apexi N1, trust me, its everything you DON'T want.

Im on the same page as you Dr5d. Some other variables that I'm looking into are durability and sound/visual appeal, but most importantly, FUEL EFFICIENCY!!! San Diego is tied with SF as having the most expensive prices in the nation.
Anyway, right now I'm leaning towards Magnaflow, since we can start a gb for 300.00 shipped from irvine via Magnaflowguy. I was interested in the EVO, but heard it gets loud when drivin highways, and rusts over a period of time.
Guys, if it's not too much trouble, can we start a pros and cons for the cat backs previously mentioned?
thanks,
M

I like Greddy it has the nice canister look and it sounds great, and its not as loud as the tanabe. If you are driving next to a cop and not pushing it, you will not get pulled over! Also right now, all I have on is that cat-back and my MPG haven't really decreased from what I can tell.

Okay, let me get this straight, you DON'T want ppl to race you, You DON'T want it to be loud, and you DON'T want it to look like a cofee can, you DON'T want to lose low-end torque. So my question is this" why DO you want an aftermarket exhaust?" because it seems to me like the STOCK exhaust is what you're after....

I'm a WS fanatic... but unfortunately I couldn't convince myself to spend $400 on an exhaust..
although the WS is one of the cheapest more known brand-name aftermarket exhaust out there I believe. cat-back anyway.
none of them give any powers or enough to warrant $500.. so I'm just looking for axel back (no, the HKS is still a bit too much and not my style)... something like the WS will be perfect.
I'm gonna wait for someone to sell it.
or something like Neuspeed's cat-back.
no over size tip, and loud when it needs to be loud.
WS might be what you're looking for, its one of the favorites of previous generation owners too.
I would recommend the magnaflow, not to loud or big.

So Ive been doin a lil homework, and it seems that Magnaflow is the only catback thats gotten reviews that mention an increase in gas mileage. Is this true for all catbacks? Or is this all just another myth like the tooth fairy, or eskimoes? It's be nice to have a mod that eventually pays itself off...

sorry to post on kind of an old thread, but didn't want to start a new one and get flamed
anyways, Out of all of the exhausts mentioned which one would be quiet enough for being on the highway for along time without it being too much. I do a lot of highway driving in addition to my city driving and I have passengers with me a lot too, so something that is easily barable on the highway would be nice. But otherwise I'm looking for the exact same things the original poster of this thread was looking for. Thanks in advance!
