RVM Under-Drive Crank Pulley
Well, I recently received their pulley and boy was it shiny!
Anyway, I also purchased 2 sets of belt from a local store, one for the alternator/ac and one for the cruise control. The belts brand name are Gates and they are "V-ribbed". Unfortunatly I do not have pictures. The pulley came with well detailed instructions and I would've installed it myself but I have lack of confidence. I had it installed today by my mechanic and it took about an hour or so. After everything was done, I definitely feel better throttle response and feel better torque. Overall, I am happy with it.

No offense man, but is that your review? were you one of the one's he sent the pulley to for free? He was gunna send me one and I told him I was gunna take pictures, make a DIY, do G-TECH runs, and post a review.. then he says he already picked someone else. I was hoping the person he picked could do those things and more but it seems like this is it, I think it was a poor judgement call as I'd like to know a little more about this product..... One more thing you talk about a belt for your cruise control??? I don't know our cars had a whole belt for the cruise control, perhaps you got confused with the AIR CONDITIONING!!! ROTFL!!! One belt goes on the power steering and the other belt is for the A/C and alternator just so you know! Oh and do you have the AEM pullies, if so post the size of the belts you used and lets post some more about this. Since you got the pulley for free you were supposed to comment on the install, tips, tricks, etc.... I'm not flaming here just mad at how this whole thing turned out...

I thought he had picked 2 people? Anyway, yes it was unfortunate for me that I had not be able to take pictures. As for the DIY, I can post it up if someone is interested. And as for doing runs, I will be going to the track sooner or later to get a time slip. And as for the belt, it stated in the instructions that I needed an aftermarket alternator/ac and cruise control belts. It even stated on Gates' website, if you'd like the part number I will be happy to post it up. When I went to my local shop and gave them the part number they knew what it was so I'm pretty sure that those were the correct belts. And even if those were incorrect, my mechanic would have told me. About the AEM pullies, I do not have them. Like I said, so far so good, I have no complaints with it at all. If there are any further more questions, I would be glad to answer them.

that pulley seems like it might be worth checking out... I am still confused where you get a cruise control pulley?? ours cars have 3 accessories plus the crank pulley, those being alternator, A/C and power steering... I'm guessing you meant the P/S because you didn't mention that one. Well Good luck with the pulley, keep us informed on how your car is doing and I might buy one too.. It seems like a good deal, I'd like to see if it would work with the AEM alt & P/S pullies because I already have those...
Tell me what you don't like about yourself....

Hey thanks for posting the belt sizes.. since I already have the AEM pullies which needed bigger belts when I installed them, I'm wondering if I'll need even bigger belts now or if the AEM belts will work... How much bigger was the new pulley vs. the old pulley? maybe that will help decide what belts to get or if I need them, because if I lossen up my alternator and p/s pump there is a lot of slack there so it might work...

Unfortunately I did not think of measuring the pullies in diameter. But all I can do is give an estimate, I would say that it's slightly bigger than the OEM pulley. I'm sorry, I should of thought of measuring the pulley.
Anyway, as for the DIY installation, you can check it out here.

They say the bolt holding the oem pulley on is on with a 150lbs of torque and i need anti seize compound....I think i will still try to put it on myself...I WILL TAKE PICS (think i can break the bolt loose?)
I just took some pics of mine, it came with some nicks on it....Im wondering if this will affect anything?
Heres the image station link they are the last 4 pics

shouldn't be major... it might through off the balance of the pulley but the thing is...it's bolted down and the belt is on there pretty snug so i don't you'll have to worry about it flying off or anything..
ok cool, they are very small nicks.........
BUT BTW i read unorthodox's installation instructions....AND they say you wont feel the peak gains till 5-7 days when the computer recalibrates

Personally....
Coming from experience I wouldn't trust any peice which was damaged in any way... very light scratches are normal.. nicks on the other hand doesn't sound too great. An imbalance on the pulley will apply pressure on the bolt and could possibly cause failure or damage in the future. However, that all depends on how large the nicks are that you're talking about.
AHH, i cant get the pulley bolt off.......What am i doing wrong, i got it in 5th gear and the brake is very firm but when i turn to try to take the bolt off the crank pulley keeps turning........???

i dont know where you get the 150 lbs spec but the pulley is held on by 14 lbs.ft of torque. use a torque wrench to put it back on, do NOT use an impact wrench.
you need to use a holder to hold down the part you're trying to take out. hmm... I duno what will subsitute it, they give a part # for the holder handle and holder attachment, but that doesn't really help.
you're suppose to use that holder, and a 19mm socket wrench to take it out... so it wont be spinning.

an impact wrench would work to take it off, if you dont have one I guess it doesn't help any. try clamping in like you said with something in between. Should work. Good luck

it's been 3 months, did you ever finish?
Holy crap 5.8hp increase on an Auto EX?
You think that's true?
For those of you who installed this months ago, how is it working now?
