I don't think the Gti gets a 60hp boost from just a chip. Sounds like too much to me. $400 bucks for 20 hp, (I still wanna see a dyno chart) is sweet! That would probably be THE best bang for the buck besides an HP header if the header does make 14 hp. I would think that would be possible, but getting to the point where much more and I won't believe it. Like its been stated: our engines are ULEV, there is a tuning improvement to be had there I would think, plus just advancing timing for primo gas would add 10 hp easy. I could believe 20 hp, I WANT TO!
Well, quick math here...........stock, the 2002 1.8t is 180hp...............w/the chip, it goes up to 240......

240-180= 60.................

check out the vortex site if you don't believe me.

Gti 1.8t's DO gain up to 60 horse from chipping, depends on how extreme you go, i almoust bought one.. friend has one.. intake, exhaust, chip, better turbo plumbing = mid13's!!!!! no bs... but hey, back to our cars... 20 hp, IS possible, no doubt.. but, i would wanna see the charts before i bought... beej... if you dont think $400 is worth it for 20hp,,, you must be MAD CRAZY---ummm, dare i say dumb? we pay all kinds of money for like 5 hp.... YOU GOTTA LET US KNOW HOW THIS GOES WHEN YOU BUY MAN!!!! NO DOUBT, WE COULD ALL USE even 10hp for $400....as long as it doesnt f* up the car... god... 20hp not worth $400.... OMG...

It's gonna cost more than $400. It appears that you gotta buy the chip and have the place you bought it dyno tune and program it for you. Figure in the dyno and tech time. You can probably get some decent gains, but also consider the programming and dyno costs.

It says on the website 10-40HP increase, so we're not guarenteed a 40HP. For all we know it can be 10. But still, its the most promising looking mod to date. I'll give the local store a call

Any news on the Unichip, Also is there a way to change settings like a guy mentioned earlier? It would be great if you could hit a button and go Performance and and hit it again and go Fuel Economy

Im from uk and have looked at getting Unichip done before.
They tune the chip on the car on a dyno. If you have modified the car prior to this you may get more gain. Their ad blurb puts it a bit like letting your ECU in on this big I/H/E secret you've been keeping from it. So now it says blaarrrgggh whats with all this fresh air hey!!! engine have some more gas!!! and happy daze we got some BHP.

Our current success rate is 399 out of 400. For every 400 unichips we have installed we have removed only one. We know of no other product with this success rate on the market.
SCAM

Where's your proof unichip.....
