Changed plugs, found 'iffy' coil

I changed the plugs in my D17A1 today, of course I pulled the coils out. and #2 coil was wet and brownish. assuming when you're looking down at the engine bay from the front and it looks like this

(1) (2) (3) (4)

#2 was the one that was discolored and had some moisture. I don't know a whole bunch about these mills and was hoping that someone here would have some insight. Moisture tells me that there is an oil leak somewhere.

Possible Head Gasket?

I'm pretty sure that it's time for new coils now. If any of you engine type guys have any insight it would be greatly apprecitated. I'm assuming that changing ignition coils should be done in sets right? any ideas on a performance coil?

Re: Changed plugs, found 'iffy' coil

the oems are more than a performance coil already. i replaced mine at 100k with a fresh set but really that was for my own fun. they either work or they dont. you can test each one with an ohm meter by checking the resistance between two of the three contacts where the connector plugs into. i dont know which two, but keep trying until you get an actual resistance reading. do all 4 coils and then compare the numbers. if they are all similar, they are fine. if one is out of the range of the others, replace it. similar idea to compression test numbers.

Thanks gear. I wont bother trying to find anything "performance" and you confirmed my change em in sets theory. I appreciate it.
