D17 vs B16a2

Just a quick question. Ive heard that D17's dont respond well to basic bolt on mods such as i/h/e. Is this true as well for the B16's? Specifically the b16a2. Thanks for the help.

Sorry if this was in the wrong thread was not sure where to put it

B16s respond better, exactly how much I can't tell you. They do love to be boosted tho. 200whp+ on easy for stock sleeves. Honda-tech is your friend when it comes to the b-series. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/2131211

b-series don't respond veeeeeery well to bolt ons, but they have much more potential than a d17.

Re: D17 vs B16a2

I did some searching around honda-tech and found this thread http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1995021

It seems that b16s with bolt ons will get you some decent numbers. I'd guess 15/14sec 1/4 mile times. Even 13s doesn't seem too "out there" with cams, IM, and slicks. This is all dependent on the driver and amount of mods of course.

Re: D17 vs B16a2

i think there is an all-motor thread on b16s on ht as well, with dyno charts and mods people have performed.

Re: D17 vs B16a2

Cool thanks guys honda tech had some good info on the b16's. Seems you can get some ok gains from some bolt ons. May have to start looking at going boost for some nice gains. From what ive been reading the B series motors respond great with turbo's. Anyways thanks for the help
