Okay, after searching/reading posts for the "best" low-sounding, non-ricey cat-back exhaust for my 04 Civic EX 4DR, I came up with the...
- APEXi World Sport II (WS2) Cat-back
- Greddy Street Performance 2 (SP2) Cat-back
- RSR ExMag Cat-back
- Magnaflow Cat-back

HOWEVER, when trying to find a vendor for each, the only exhaust that is made for an 04 EX 4DR is the Magnaflow. BUT I read that the Magnaflow sits low. As for the others, they are only made for Coupes.

I am probably just going to get the APEXi or Greddy (gotta compare costs first) and then get a muffler shop to mod the pipes so it won't stick out. Anyone know how much of the coupe exhaust will stick out from the back of the sedan? Is it really that noticeable?

And lastly, I am curious...what exhausts do 04-05 EX Sedan owners on this forum have on their Civics?

THANKS!!

Are sedan and coupe exhaust the same? Maybe i am just thinking magnaflow, but I am pretty positive it's the same length..

Well according to this site, http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...da-civic-3.htm, it appears that both the 04 coupe and sedan have the same overall length (175.4") and wheelbase (103.1"). But that doesn't say that the exhaust setup is the same. Or is it??? Does anyone know?

I read somewhere the concern is that the bumper for the 04+ sedan does not have as much of a clearance for the exhaust tip as the coupe does, or older sedans.

Yeah, I heard that too. Coupe has exhaust cut-out, sedans do not. But that's easily correctable by adjusting the hangers, I think.

But what about length? Does the tip extend any further on the sedan than it would on the coupe? With the lengths being the same, I'm thinking no. But I would like to hear what others say...

Thanks!

ok the only reason Magnaflow says there exhaust will fit on the 2-door and 4-door versions are becuz it comes with an interchangeable pipe. Theres one pipe that goes somewhere in the middle or something that comes with the package. And theres a pair of them. One for the coupe and one for the sedan. As for any other mufflers, i wouldn't know. and i dont know if length or w.e makes a difference but i'm guessing it does. Hopefully not that big a deal. Sorry if i couldnt help as much.

coupe exhausts work on sedan, it just sticks out an extra few inches. i have the rsr on mine, but i also have oem coupe lip so it doesnt stick out at all.
