need assistance. lx exhaust system

hi. i just recently acquired my brothers honda and i want to make it go a little bit faster, ive been trying to look for an exhaust system(headers, down pipe and exhaust) for the lx trim. i cant seem to find one that has the cat attached to it... any ideas or info about this trim would be greatly appreciated! thanks.

First...your not gonna get power unless you K swap or turbo.

As for the exhaust, I have an LX and I just went with Magnaflow cat-back. If you want headers you'll have to get rid of the cat or just convert to EX exhaust. Which you buy EX header, EX cat and EX o2 sensors(or wire extentions) and an EX cat-back.

I would just go with a cat-back for the LX and be done...cause your not gonna see much gains from any bolt on's.

There are sooooo many threads about no gains from bolt ons. So at great personal risk of getting flamed I will mention that AEM claims 12.2 hp on the lx with a V2 intake.

http://www.aempower.com/images/products/246102_hp.pdf

Maybe that is complete bs but it would seem like they would be setting themselves up to get sued a lot if so. I dunno, and I have an EX anyway.

But if true that is not a bad gain. Maybe give it a try with a good cat-back like lxcivic2k1 said.

wow vicdawg, they actually have some numbers!!! i wish it was really like that.. well as they said you won't gain much or any. intake, headers and exhaust are just for show and sound and actually, i have AEMv2 and it makes the "shooosh" sound when ignition off. and as for being LX, if you wanna buy some EX exhaust get an extension from tanabe so you won't need a cat.. thats what iam gonna do by next week and hopefully everything goes well so for now just wait before i do it.

This is also an option. You will still have to extend o2 wires.

Its a typo, you cant sue!!!
Try they will laugh at you.
False advertising would consist of them giving one price and selling it for another. You cant sue them for inaccurate hp numbers unless it was the car manufacturer saying it. AEM didnt make the stock intake!! If you believe that an lx intake will give you 12 hp then that is your bad, not AEM's typo!!
I personally called AEM out on this and they said it was deffinetly a typo and would be taken care of. They will take their sweet *** time fixing it till more bitch!!! If your dumb enough to believe a D17 can pick up 12 hp from a intake you deserve the thing!!!!!!!

haha,
this is a good honest thread for someone new.....listen bro - all these guys are right, intake , exaust , header do very little except cost you $1000! So, just make your car look nice and you can do little mods - you can get an intake for sound - they sound good and it is a cheaper mod, get a nice exaust tip, sporty tip, get nice alloys wheels if you still have wheel covers, and of course I love manual trans, so you gotta have a manual transmission , oh yea some good tires man , very important too, and you can plus size 1 or 2 steps for a little better handling, hope this helps man. these guys are saving you from wasting your money. you can also get new bulbs if you want like ge nighthawk , phillips vision plus, for a little blue tint (you won't see as clear at night). If you want real speed, like they said here, swap or get the new si or an acura rsx.

i have an lx. i put megan racing headers for an ex, megan racing downpipe/hi flow cat for an ex, and an ebay catback for an ex and put it all on. i bought 4 dollars worth of wire and extended my stock o2 censor wires a lil bit. at the track i ran a 16.7 with the exhaust where as i ran a 17.3 stock. i ran multiple times with both exhaust and no exhaust. those were both the best times i could get each day. i personally could feel a difference with the exhaust. oh and i had an ebay cold air intake installed on both track days. so i say go with an all ex exhaust and and you will feel a difference.
