need so info on tunning parts
You're not gonna get much in the way of horsepower extraction out of the D17. Honda did a good job getting the most power out of the engine in it's current state. Your only options for a significant HP gain is to add power, be it through turbo, new internals, or swap out the engine for a K-series.
I am going to turbo down the road just want some more power in the meantime every little bit helps and the way I see it you should not swap the motor be brave and build the motor that came with the car even if it cost you an arm and a leg.It may not be as fast as a kswap but if honda wanted the k20a2 in a civic they would put it in there IMO.
Maybe so, but in a sense they did. The EM2 and the DC5 are very, very similar cars. Why do you think the swap is so simple, on a relative scale? Some might argue that the 7thgen 'vic is an economy version of the RSX, minus about 60 hp and other amenities. Playing off the car's reputation, a K-swapped Civic is quite a sleeper. If you're going turbo, you need to talk to Dezod. He said something in another thread a couple of days ago that really got me thinking. With a K-swap, it's doubtful you'll recover the money you spent to get the swap done, which will most likely be upwards of $5000-6000. I don't think you'll find a buyer who will appreciate what you've done and pay a reasonable price. However, with a turbo, you can part it off when you get rid of the car and regain some of the expenses. I'm sure someone this site would buy a used Dezod kit for half-price, what with their quality reputation and all. But let's face it, no one wants to keep their Civic forever. No one dreams of owning a souped-up import (unless, of course, it's like that Factor-X NSX that was just in Turbo mag. Anyone else see that? Damn.). You've got to have a reasonable escape route.
As far as bolt-on HP mods for a D17 go, there aren't any. Of course, there's a myriad of performance parts that any shop will be happy to sell you and install on your car for the right price. But they'll do nothing for the car, aside from aesthetics. Ask anyone on this site, most people get an intake so they've got something shiny under the hood that makes a cool noise at WOT. I could be wrong, but I don't think too many people got one for the loss of what little low-end torque we have and a gain of maybe 2 hp in the top-end. Same with exhaust. It's most commonly installed on these cars for one express purpose: sound. Honestly, our cars sound really weak at anything under 6000 RPM. Above that, they sound like they're about to explode.
If you're going to build the motor, get in touch with Andyman or Supermex or any of the other members here who have built up a D-series.
Oh, and welcome to the site.

Was going to go with the tsi kit or dezod have to get more info on the dezod kit. dezod rocks they are the only place that cares to make hp parts for or cars with dezod I won't have to swap to motor and for the kswap not easy just being over done and like you said for that kind of bank will not get it back.
Thank for the info.
True, no engine swap is simple. I was speaking in relative terms. Hell, a buddy of mine's swapping a H22A1 in place of a H23A2 and he's having all kinds of trouble. And that's the same engine, more or less.
What power adders do you have on your car there is a lot of stuff I want to do to this car. Costing more then buying a diff car but love this car it just don't proform the way i want in the terms of power.People tell me this motor is a turd but people said this about my amc 304 when I was done they eat there words at the track.I like a fight this should be a good one in about a year will see who wins.
Me, personally? I haven't done anything to my car. I have neither the time nor the finances to modify it besides minor personalization. But rest assured, your 'vic can turn into quite a beast with the right modifications. There are some pretty insane track cars on this site, as well as awesome show cars, and everything in between.
