volant intake

I spoke with Daniel with volant out in California about getting a volant intake for my civic...they have been discontinued (I don't know why!! he said they mostly do mods for high end cars now)...but after talking with him he decided to "find" one for me...he is gonna get one for me, and I told him I was in the 7th gen club, he said get a number on how many want one, and I will let him know..he said I could get a good price, the intake is all polyethelene and cold air, or kinda 1/2 cold air ,it points down below the engine bay, you can put an extension on if you want.
I hope to get a call from him soon.

haha, volant's intake was supposed to be out about 3 years ago.

find one for you?
translation: never find one for you.

what a joke of a company. find that old thread where they kept some member's civic for a whole day. pretty bad customer service.

and those aren't even in stock. you will basically buy it and wait forever because the supplier doesn't make it anymore.

I will admit I like the design. Not as obvious as other cold air intakes...

the filter and box worries me. i mean, its just like stock then as far as restrictions. and i'm sure the filter is some generic panel type.

I always thought it was a filter charger (cone style) enclosed in the box with the opening at the bottom.

Re: volant intake

Hey guys, I'm new to your forum but I just recently bought a used Volant intake on eBay for my 05 civic EX SE. I like it. Installation took about 20 minutes. After reading some of your posts I def. need to clarify some misconceptions.

It is for the manual transmission only and you need to remove the bracket the suppurts the hydrolic line for your slave cylendar to install it on any 04 or 05.

The filter is a cone filter inside the box, not flat

Honestly I can't feel any real horsepower difference b/c id really only be comparing 5 whp to my stock 127 fwhp so, its pretty tuogh.

Sounds good and looks great. Right now I'm running it without the box similar to any run of the mill CAI and it works fine.

The plastic or whatever material it is made of works well to keep it cool, way better than any metal intakes.

I'm glad I bought it used though, not sure if I'd waste the money for a new one when I could just get a cheapo on eBay instead

Re: volant intake

Thats exactly why I'm glad I bought it used. I got mine on eBay for $100. The only reason I like it better than other intakes is b/c the 90 degree elbow for the TB sits the same height as the stock intake box and fits very well under my APC strut bar. I couldn't find any other intake that would fit for a reasonable price. My last resort would have been to modify a cheapo off of eBay. But like you guys said, its not a spectacular god given intake like it was originally made out to be. glad mine was cheap!!!https://www.civicforums.com/forums/i...s/biglaugh.gif

On a side note, that looks like something I can make myself...looks like *** I think. **** if I can get an ebay short ram intake even, use the upper pipe, make a little box (**** me i dont know why), and lead a tube all the way down, it will also net little to no gains, and look like a piece of ***.
