ok, so if i get a downpipe to my header it will replace my cat. does this mean i will fail emissions? im in GA so i have no clue. someone help. i really don't know. ill settle for no downpipe if i have to but hey i just want to make sure. thanx guys.

If you replace Cat with downpipe/testpipe, you will not pass emission.
Will throw CEL.

cel will go off within about a week. Here in ohio we have to pass emissions every 2 years, so either pass first and then put it on. Also you could look into a hi-flow cat, this is the legal version and does about the same it just costs more.

here is the funny thing. the downpipe will have the O2 sensor thats supposed to go after the cat/part of the cat. will it still throw a code? thanx for helping guys. if it will, then ill just get a high flow cat. i REALLY appreciatte the help.

is that a real high flow cat? or is it just a down pipe? im not sure about this. sorry for puting it in the wrong section.

On my test pipe it has the o2 holes for where they were stock. and my CEL was on for i think 1day.. i have the megan racing header and test pipe/ cel-less..

I live in Florida. I dont have that.. But from what I have herd I dont think it would.. I mean theres no cat, like some times you get some smoke but not alot and you can smell it...

I would recommend an EX exhaust swap. Go with a DC or Hedman shorty 4-1 header and a Random Technology high flow cat and voila! Emissions legal.

First off what kind of emissions testing do they do in GA?

Also, down the line if you plan to do bigger engine mods (Nitrous/Turbo) you're pretty much going to be forced to swap out your stock one.

Also, to the guy from Ohio, I have never heard of emissions testing in Ohio...?

i did an exhaust conversion and it worked out great. i have the random technologies cat pipe dc4-1 header and greddy evo2. so im 50 state smog legal. i couldnt tell you what the power difference was using a stock cat pipe becasue i had to do the whole conversion. but i will tell you i am very happy with the quality, the sound, and the performance of the parts i used.

unfortunately no, i havent had the pleasure yet! i have a local company im sure youve heard of them "Dynamic Autosports" they are huge in the import market they usually give me deals becasue i have dropped a lot of coin with them over the years. and i also know a lot of the reps they get
their parts from, becasue i was in the industry for a while as well!

I live in Hinesville and I took my cat out because I got the kamakazi header put on. You will fail emessions. Do what you think is right. I dont have emissions testing here.
