a local shop here got me a knock off "apexi N1". exact specs as the original, we compared them side by side and inside out. the only difference was the badging.
im pretty content with it, its throaty in the lo rpms, then intake takes over until WOT, even then the intake is drastically louder. the only problem i have was the uber gay angle the muffler shop bent my piping..

I used to have a powertech muffler on my first car, and it was cool for the price, it was like 100 bucks but the knock offs are nothing compared to the real thing. Now, I have a HKS Hi-power and it's the sickest exhaust I've ever had. From now on, i'm never going to buy anything other then HKS, or brand name. The sound quality is unparalleled. The knock off exhaust I had began to hum/rattle at higher RPM, and the chrome began to pit. The HKS unit has sustained a extreme amount of abuse (heh heh heh) and given like new results since then.
If you do decide to buy a knock off, i reccommed that you look for 2 different warning signs. First is the seam, how it's welded and how well it's welded. (or if there is a seam at all. The canisters that has a seamless design are better.) Also, what it's made of. 304SUS is the best/cheapest material for knock offs.
If you have a taste of the best, that's all your going to want to use.

I had a Boss Muffler (N1 Style) and it actually sounded really good.
You can't really go wrong with a replica. Whether it's name brand or not... steel is steel and muffler packing is muffler packing.
