Short shifter, throttle body spacer, Intakes
Just have a few thing I've been wondering about:
Short shifters: I was looking at getting the DC sports adapter but I dont know how good it is or if I should get a whole new one (like the revo or buddy club) and if getting a whole new one would be a pain to install?
OBX throttle body spacer: I read about in the products review section but I just wanted to see what peoples experiences were with it since its only like 50 bucks.
V2 intake: I've read how people dont like that they aren't CAI's but I wanted to see if anyone has used the OBX thing with it and if it will fit and has anyone tried painting a V2? One last thing, I kind of wanted to get this because Im hoping it'll lower my RPM's when im on the highway, anyone know if it will make a big difference? (5th gear at like 75mph im at like 3.5k, I think)
Thanks

For short throw get a Revo ss and some bushings, you will be very pleased with its performance over the cheasy adaptors, the TB spacer is a $120 paper weight, it does give you a little deeper and louder sound but the money could be better spent elsewhere. As far as intakes, the V2 is pretty short, i run an injen Sp cai and the sound and performance is good, and its CARB exempt, the fitment is pretty tight though with the injen, i heard they re-desinged it recently, at least for a EX MT
DONT PANIC

You CANNOT change your gear ratio without changing the the gears in your tranny, or your tire size.
Add all the power you want. Make 1500 whp. I dont care. You will still be at the same RPM at the same speed in the same gear.

i had a v2 for a good 6 months or so with no problems. i liked the sound of it and it also had a slightly better performance over my old intake (weapon*r dragon intake).. no cracks or anything..
added bump for me: if you're looking for a header, i got a kamikaze ceramic header.. it was on my '02 ex.. click the link in my sig for pics/details.. lol
edit: wow.. didnt catch that thing about lowering RPMs.. yea.. you'd have to change your gear ratios for that.. what the intake will do is give you a louder engine bay and maybe get you to 75 MPH a little quicker.. i think you lose a little on the low end of the RPM band, but you gain a little at the top of the band.. something like that..

top speed would also be a factor, right? that is, if you cared about top speed. since we have civics, we can go about 130ish without the rev-limiter kicking in..
taller gears = higher top speed, but harder to get there due to slower accelleration.
short gears = lower top speed, but you get there faster due to faster accelleration.

me! I have to say I feel very imbarassed I didnt think of that...
But thanks for all of the advice, though im still not sure if I want to get the full short shifter kit or just the adapter, what is the big difference? I read that the plastic on the full kits break if you shift hard and I tend to take out my anger on my car sometimes. And someone said the V2's crack, where and why does it happen? thanks
