Took my muffler off!! better performance!
I just removed my aftermarket muffler & put my stock one on, & I noticed a really big difference in my car's performance, it feels alot faster & more responsive. has any1 else experienced better performance removing their muffler??
here's a shitty pic of what I had:

I'm just gonna keep it till I get a full axhaust setup.

what power?? I don't think muffler gives any power unless u have everything up from headers changed. From what I've learned a muffler alone is just show off, just to make some ricey sound with minimal or no power gain!! Gaining hp from just a muffler is pure BS, IMO if u r lookin for performance, u are better off spending that money on a short-shifter, at least u'll accelerate faster and will also have fun changing gears.

stock muffler is better for low end because exhaust flows faster. actually the 05 rsx-s muffler has a valve that opens at higher rpm to allow more flow. pretty neat.

actually i noticed this too, the stock exhaust is only 1.5" and going to a 2.25" exhaust is too big for a 1.7l engine. I now have a RSX type S exhaust that is 1 7/8" and performance is the best yet

ok first of all its not in his head! you gain low end torque with your stock muffler, but you will lose the high end though. Its a give or take situation, you can't have both. So technically its not in his HEAD! He gained probably way better acceleration when putting on the stock muffler.
lol, maybe its the backpressure? or the fact that your used to listening your muffler pitching high to get to places. but now that its quiet, you dont hear the muffler and that tells your mind your car "seems" quicker cause your dont "hear" it.
