Rep Power: 0 I will be soon. I've got the stage 2 turbo cam and spring/retainer kit sitting in front of me right now. I'm just waiting for Exospeed to get done with my EX head. They should be done Friday. Then it's install and dyno time. I really need a return fuel system now.
I'm very pleased with the quality of the Crower stuff. It all looks top notch. Also, I think Exospeed is going to do a really good job. They were saying that they would really like to do more for the D17 but that they haven't had many people interested in their services for our application yet. He said they can currently build any type of D17 you want.

agreed ... is it me or does it seem like nobody has this?...
I remember everyone was pushing for a company to make a cam ... now that they have one, nobody is jumping on it .. (or very few)

i think i'm just gonna go for a stage one because i'm still torn on what I'm going to do down the road. i'm still on the edge between spoolin' or sprayin'...all though the idea of a civic that lopes a little while idling is very appealing.

Rep Power: 305 I had some setbacks that delayed the cam for me. all in one night of racing I found out I needed 4 new tires, my clutch started to slip , and I broke a lug. well once I put in the clutch, install some arp wheel studs, finish the tires, get aligned I may dyno for a before and after then install the cam and springsand tune. I am sure glad I have 2 cars. my pocket hurts

Port, polish, valve job, resurface, hot tank, etc. All the normal headwork. They're charging me $650. I checked a couple other places locally and that was an average price. I hear Exospeed is one of the best when it comes to SOHC Hondas. I'll find out for sure soon.

Yeah, I'm going to take a bunch of pictures and post the dyno sheet too. I'm still runnning the stock fuel pump, which worries me. I want to do a return conversion but I won't have the money for a couple months. I may just replace the in-tank pump right now and then do the rest of the conversion in a month or so when I have the cash.

I don't think install is going to be that bad. I've never done it before but I know some people that are knowledgeable in case I get stuck. I borrowed a valve spring install/removal tool which I've heard can save a little time and headache as well. Hopefully, I'll be able to tell you exactly how hard it is after this weekend.
Tuning really depends on each individuals setup. I am going to have my A/F ratio checked on a dyno and then have my Emanage maps trimmed accordingly. After that I may reprogram my boost control settings on the E0-1 to see if I can improve boost response.

Rep Power: 305 the plan is to do the clutch and studs, first dirve it around a bit break in the clutch, then baseline dyno it all motor and n2o. then install the cam and springs retune and dyno once more. I hope it works out that way. at the very least there will be a dyno after the cam install.

Well, take your car to get tuned if you actually have something to tune with (i.e. VAFC, Emanage, EMS). Otherwise, a dyno will just show you A/F ratio readings and power output.

Rep Power: 0 I think Crower's spec sheet says that dyno tuning isn't necessary with stage 1 and 2 setups. I'm a big proponent for dyno tuning, though. Buying some type of engine management, whether it be piggyback or standalone, and having your car dyno tuned allows you to pull more power out of whatever setup you're running.
