Huge exhaust tips

Why is it that any exhaust system I have found available for my 2005 (01-03) has like huge exhaust tips. The smallest one I have found was made by tanabe and its 100MM huge all the others are like 110 or 115mm. I bought the invidia one thats 101mm and I think it looks like a coffee can which to me looks like ****, but yet its one of the smaller ones available.

Whats does the invidia sounds like if anyone knows? plus why the hell they all so damn big like i wouldnt mind like a 96mm or sumthin but still these bastards are huge and to me that looks like str8 up rice ****.

thermal has a very nice look, alot smaller than the others and doesn't look like a coffee can. Check thermal stealth, rsr exmag, and apexi WSII.

you would probably like the canister muffler exhausts than the typical tube (apexi n1/tanabe/5zigen)

heres a list of exhaust you should check out for the non huge tip muffler exhaust:
apexi world sport
apexi world sport II
greddy sp
thermal classic (CL and stealth)
RSR EX MAG
or you can go with a universal muffler and get custom pipes done

You bought a 101, but would be fine with a 96. You realize thats a 1/4" right? Thats almost undiscernable. If its an exhaust with an expansion section behind the muffler (like the Tanabe Hyper), get a muffler shop to cut the bid tip off, and weld a piece of 2.5 or 3" stainless tubing to the end. When you get home, polish it up. Done deal. If it fits properly in the recess in the bumper, then 4" doesn't look to big, because it matches the radius of the recess for it.

Heres the closest pic I have of mine. Its 2.25". You cant even see that its different than stock. It could be 2.5, but I really doubt it. everybody says it looks stock, other than the shine. It was a tip I had welded on. I didnt want the big *** muffler. Im gonna be switching it out though for a better flowing muffler, and a larger tip probably.
