Other than the face not being near closed off and the fact that two more bolts means more clamping power so that you are less likely to have the cam gear slip out of tune...what other factors (if any) are better about this cam gear as opposed to the one that they have been building for the past 8 years?

1. If it is not a K20A engine don't bother.
2. If I read someone’s opinion I totally believe what they said and never will research it for myself. (Point at hand B series engines do fit [screw emissions I am building a track car not a daily driver]...and yes you can make good horsepower numbers from our engines with bolt-on parts).
3. If you think you are going to make power with a SOHC engine you are stupid...this would fall into the category described above.
4. I am going to say exactly and/or ignore what you just said and try to make you look like a fool.
It seems to me people are angry about being Civic owners instead of being the Happy Honda people we are trying to front as.

I love my civic; wouldn't trade for anything else. Yes I do know a case where the old model gear "slipped" even tho the bolts were tightened. The instructions didn't mention that you need to remove the dust covers either. We left the rear one on and saw the cam gear grind it up when we started the car. I hope it didn't mess up anything, but that really should have been one of the steps. It fits fine when installed, but the screws are too long and tear into the plastic.
