I got the nickel and it is hot as hell. Radiates a lot of heat right around my intake. The cereamic is suppost to keep the heat out of your engine bay and keep it inside the header. The only reason I didn't get the ceramic was I heard it cracks over time. Looking back though I would have went with the ceramic and taken my chances.

It's bad for me cause I have a AEM V2 intake
sitting very close by sucking in all that hot air, which causes lower HP. I also overtorqued the top two bolts(peice of **** torque wrench) and snapped them and I beleive some hot air is ecaping do to that as well. Something I need to fix as soon as I get back. Other than the heat issue it seems to be fine. I installed the header and exhaust at the same time, plus I'm running no cat. It's been so long(6 or 7 mo), but I'm pretty sure there was a gain. I ran 15.7 with I/H/E my weight reduction and the power steering pulley belt off on stock 14's. with around 22psi. Bone stock I ran 17.0. So I'd say I shaved .3 due to improved driving skills/60ft and a full second from the combination of those mods.
If you want looks get the chrome, cause the nickel turns into this rainbowish/dull finnish.
Get the caspers O2 sim. Might be pricey at $80 to some people, but it is so easy a monkey could do it. Plug n Play saves time, looks clean and you could always go back to stock if needed, no splicing.

on top of that, i also got a full catback exhaust system (magnaflow) with the v2 intake.. and those 2 mods seem to bond very well haha.. so will this header make an even bigger difference since it would be running with a full catback exhaust system?

The ceremic would be the best performance wise to my knowlege. I can't say how much it alone will help because I installed my exhaust at the same time, but have you taken a look at the stock header. The tubes are like pancake thin compared to the kamakaze. Less restriction = better flow which = more power.
Yea, I have kamikaze headers on my 04 lx, it fit good, no need to even shave the alt. mount, its definently worth it. Oh, and sorry guys, no matter what, an intake is an intake regardless, its just a pipe with a filter, there is no serious difference, so quit wasting your time caring about it. Peace.
