Quiet Muffler...

*sigh* I know yet another stupid thread on exhausts.....anyways my tanabe racing tuner muffler is way to loud now with my header so i want to replace it with a quiet muffler. I have 2.25" custom catback piping with a bullet resonator. So i want some suggestions on mufflers that'll be quiet with just a slightly louder than stock sound level. So far i know apexi's WS, and tanabe's hyper are good choices. What about 5zigen, skunk2, etc. (real products not knock offs like ractive or OBX)?

I can vouch for WS. Really quiet, slightly louder when you get on it a little.

the only thing that sucks is that they don't have them in universal mufflers. this is also in case i stumble upon some one selling just the muffler as well. I'm also assuming mufflers that's aren't cannister style are quieter as well.

The Tanabe Hyper Spec muffler is quiet? I've always had the impression that Tanabe mufflers were very loud.

^your probably thinking of the larger canister mufflers (which tanabe is known for). but tanabe makes a hyper spec exhaust that sports a street exhaust.

tanabe's racing muffler's are loud. from what i know any larger cannister muffler, like the tanabe hyper, should be quiet.

Not Skunk2 because i have it and it's loud with headers and hi flow cat. I would said it's just as loud as a GT with exhaust or alittle louder.

The HKS HiPower is really quiet. At first it sounds pretty deep, but after a couple of weeks it tones down a bit. My K&N FIPK intake is louder than my HKS... LOL.

my only options are universal mufflers or people who are selling their mufflers for whatever reason. otherwise i would have gotten an R*SR or apexi WS.

This weekend I had a custom axleback made with a Flowmaster Delta Series 60(made for imports) on my EX with stock piping and resonator. Its just a tiny bit louder then stock with a nice mellow tone inside the car. At highway speeds you can barely notice it. Flowmaster sells an axle-back kit, but its not for an EX or if you have a swaybar. I like it for what I paid, also it seems like my throttle response improved in the mid range.

The greddy sound horrable IMO i would never get one. My friend had one on his prelude and it sounded like all rice. Between skunk2 and greddy i would rather have skunk2 because thats the only i had come first hand with on a civic but i saw a video of one and it still sounded horrable.

download a video of them they sound horrable. I don't know what they sound like from the inside but from the outside it's bad. This is all my opinion though.
