RS-R exhaust?

I was planning on installing GReddy EVO2 catback on my 04 coupe ex but in Virginia the cops really hammer down on the illegal exhaust so when i saw the tip on the EVO2 I ruled that out. I found RS-R on modacar.com and went to their home site and saw picks and it is a quite exhaust with a small tip. Is dropping $500 on this worth it with little power gains and minimal sounds. I am leaning towards yes but would like to know of anyone else has a suggestion...

I'm in the same situation. I really like the RSR system, except 500 bucks for minimal gains and sound is kinda expensive. I think what I'm gonna do instead is buy a muffler and have a custom axle-back that I can unbolt and go back to stock if I want. Shouldnt cost too much, maybe 200 bucks depending on the muffler.

Better performance is my main objective but then again it is just exhaust. I DO NOT want a large muffler cause our good ol' VAPD are **** about exhaust here and another ticket for anything is something I can't afford!!! I have read that in the higher rpms the exhaust has a louder note and that is all i am really concerned about, when i want it to get loud, it can. Performance wise i hear it is about as good as anything else in the $450-$600 price range but any other suggestions....lay em' on me

Its ceramic, not powder coating... but the coating comes off, so its pretty useless other than its what makes it black. The stuff on the muffler lasts, but the stuff on the pipes will come off.

Its still about as stock as you're gonna get from an aftermarket exhaust. Its not loud enough to attract attention if thats what you're looking for. I don't know in what way they're picky. If its by sound, you're probably going to get away with it, but no guarantees.

i think spending 500 for exhaust is stupid, personally i spend 180 for a custom catback w/ a magnaflow muffler and it sounds great and looks great sounds its that annoying bumble bee sound when you step on the gas
to each his own

Yeah, my friend has the WS 2 and it's the best exhaust I have heard on an import IMO...Not loud at all. Just real deep

Hmmmmm I wanted the pipe to be made of better material for the price. Usually Stainless pipes cost more?

After you install this exhaust or any exhaust for that matter do you need to reset the ECU?
