M3 CSL Style Body Kit

Hey all,

I've had these photochops up for quite some time now, and haven't received THAT much feedback on them; but, the feedback that I HAVE received has been wonderful. So, what do you all think of a kit like this being produced? Personally, I think, and most of the people that commented on the photochops, that it would be an awesome kit.

Front:

Revised Front:

Side:

Rear:

Rear with CSL-Style Ducktail Spoiler:

Here are some of the comments that I've received:
"I only wish they had a kit like this, especially the rear fenders cuz then it would match better, it would be like the 2000 and earlier Civics, they looked so much nicer when they're slammed."
"I think that would look sick!!!!"
"back looks nice..."
"Damn! I like that!!"

Also, do any of you know how I would go about getting this kit produced? Who would I go to? I'd really love to get this kit produced.

it would be nice. but i think it would only come out in fiberglass if it is ever being produce. then again for people that just go to shows it would definitely be nice.

Looks pretty nice, except the trunk is a wee bit bulgy and I hope to God that you just left the 4 tailpipes there because you didn't feel like Photochopping them out, theres no way a D17 will ever need 4 exhaust pipes, if a dual exhaust is rice, then a quad-exhaust just crosses some sort of line that nobody ought ever to cross...

It's actually not quad exhaust, nor is it even dual exhaust. It would use the same type of exhaust system that AA Tuning makes for the E46 M3.

Except it would only have one inlet, instead of two. Haven't you seen V8 Camaros and Firebirds, even Corvettes, they have 4 exhaust tips. Just because there's 4 exhaust tips, doesn't make it quad exhaust.

Just a wee 'bit off topic... But, it adds about 5-7 WHP on an M3. I hear the stock E46 M3's exhaust is already fairly high-flowing.

Well, if this were a REAL M3 CSL we were talking about I could tell you that the holes are actually functional... but, alas, it isn't, haha. In any case, looking at the front end pic, the hole on the left would actually feed cold air into your intake system, whereas I just added the hole on the right to make it look a 'bit more balanced. I'm sure you could fit foglights in there too, if you wanted to.

You don't think it's that aggressive? Also, keep in mind that the fins on the front bumper would be carbon fiber, and so would the exhaust surround on the rear bumper.

Also, to give you all an idea of what the ducktail spoiler would look like, here's what it looks like on the real M3 CSL:

Also, it gives you a better idea of what the front and rear bumper would really look like, and the fenders as well.

Oh, sorry they don't look connected. Obviously if they were produced they'd look connected, I just basically slapped them on there in the photochop.

Well, there's a reason German cars are adorned... and let's just say, from looking at the recent JD Powers, it isn't the quality, lol.

Yah, emphasis on EVER, lol.

Anyone know of any companies that do custom body kits, or one-offs, or that would be interested in starting a new body kit line?

I would agree with this. ^^

as for making the kit, i can you can basically just talk to any bodyshop, if you can guarantee a sale then they would make it. but you have to get a big gb first tho. especially for a "new" kit. its not like an octane kit where you know everyone and their mom would buy one. hahaha
and i don't know why the octane kits are so popular, lol.

I have to agree, mine is an 04 coupe, I really like the tsunami kit, I might be interested in the fender flairs though. I don't like some of the kits because in my opinion they make our cars look like old rivers, I do like the fenders though.

Well, apparently I was mistaken. I guess there ISN'T enough interest for this kit to become a full production unit. I guess I'll be going the one-off route if I want it made...

well you can always go buy the real csl bumpers and ask a shop to custom fit it for you if you really wanted it.

dont count on it happenin ur best bet is to spend 1k on m3 bumpers and make a mold then use m3 bottom and then oem upper to make a old that would fit properly=too much work..

i.e. just give it up...lol.
