Estimated HP numbers from these mods:
Hey everyone,
I might need to sell my new SF turbo system before I even get to install it, so I was wondering if someone might be ablw to tell me what hp I can get from just the following mods properly tuned with e-manage:
Besides the usual I/H/E/ Hi flow cat, I have the following to install now:
P&P head, 74mm TB, Custom Intake Manifold with RSX Injectors, CAM shaft, UR Crank Pulley, Lightened flywheel.
Will I be able to get at least 160Hp at the wheels if I get it tuned properly?
If I can get that much, I might just sell the turbo and just go all motor!
But if I keep turbo, what hp numbers could I get at around 8psi? I have the upgraded turbo, equal legnth manifold, alch injection in my kit.
Thanks Guys.

if your going all motor without turbo i think the p&p head and throttle body might actually make you lose power on the d17 from what others have used.. i think they are recommended for turbo applications. just turbo that ****!!!

I don't think that you will go above 140 unless you raise the comp. significantly. Unless you raise the compression the throttle body and intake mani. are overkill for a NA engine

If you're lucky, those mods will give 140whp like a stock Si. A member here dynoed at 135whp with something similar, but his pnp/valve job was very well done. Not like the stupid Dh one.

you get around 183-5 at 8psi on a stock block.

74mm Too big? I have a stock block, but I will put in a block guard when I put on the head, but could I dammage my motor with this larger Throttle Body?
No, I still don't have my intake manifold, hopefully next week.
I was expecting more that 190hp @ 8psi if I decide to install the turbo with these other upgrades too!
I am not in a pinch for money, but I have decided to go back to University for another 3 years starting in September, in a small town in Ontario called Thunder Bay (pop 120,000) - Lakehead University. Not working for 3 years will eat up most of my savings too, so I can put that 'first house' idea out of my mind.
It gets super cold there, and I doubt that there is a proper tuning shop with a dyno that I can get my stuff installed at & tuned properly? Can someone (like me) dyno tune on an e-manage without any prior training?

60mm should be the largest bore for the D-series. I don't know, but bigger probably won't hurn the engine. It will just let more air in, and may slow down the velocity.
If your head is milled at all, using a turbo is a BAD idea as you probably know. Mine was milled 1mm and now the car shakes at idle (low rpms). That's way too much even for NA.

Well my Head is not milled, and I have the choice of stock or 74mm TB, what should I go with?

I'm sending my TB to www.maxbore.com in a few weeks. Comes highly recommended and the work looks good. Not that much of a bore, and you keep all the sensors and cruise control. Comes with a new butterfly valve and reset tps to factory specs.

I can't do that though, too much down time. DO they have a swap program?

Did you read the page? They bore to a max of 60mm, and it only takes them one day to do it and send back. So you're just waiting for shipping time. Won't be more than two weeks if that.

Yep, I am reading everything here, musta missed that though.

But what is the stock TB size?
How much for the 60mm bore from them?
