Engine = exact same for all years... Will fit assuming it was made for the same transmission (ie the 03 ex is auto and the 04 ex is auto, 03 ex is manual 04 ex is manual) Sorry to say this but you need to search before you post questions like this.

if its from a 03 ex than it will fit on the 04 ex doesn't matter about the transmission and if its from s lx, dx it will be the same for the 03 and 04.

i disagree on that. ex are slightly different then the LX/DX models. if you look at www.aempower.com , you will notice that they make cold air/short ram/v2 intakes for our 7thgens in certain catergories. for automatics/manuals/ex's/lx & dx.

so taking an intake off a LX/DX and installing it on an EX will not fit without modification

Sorry buts thats wrong

I remember reading the instructions for my Injen CAI, if you try to put an Auto EX CAI on an Manual EX you'll run into alot of clearence and alignment issues.

ya i disagree with that too....the EX has a higher performance engine (not much just like 10 HP) but the LX and DX etc have a smaller engine and is not vtec

LX doesn't have VTEC, the EX has a SOHC VTEC.

Both are the same block the EX has a diff head.
And YES you can put an 03 intake into an 04 vehicle they will match up seen it done no difference

the difference between the lx dx hx, and the ex is the intake mani (throttle body is verticle instead of horizantal.), which is the only reason for the different aftermarket intakes. as for the trannies got boost is right you need to match up everything except the years. all the cars, 01-04 are the same car aside from cosmetics and possible interior looks.

they are all the 1.7, but like the 1.6, the heads are the only difference between the lx, dx, and hx. also the pistons (i think) are slightly different, but that is nethier here nor there. as for the actual physical size of each motor, they are all the same. the ex version (vtec) has a few extra parts though.

so as far as the air intakes are concerned, the throttle body is in a different position for the ex vs. the dx and lx, and i'm not positive about the hx.

hope this clears some things up.
