most intakes will rob low end torque and horsies. Do you have a LX/DX or EX? It would be a good idea to search and post in the right forum.
LX/DX: AEM V2
EX: K&N FIPK 2
those seem to be the most popular ones now.... if $$ is not a problem

I don't like AEM. I had their shortie intake and lost power. Also the K&N filters that all AEM intakes use is not as good as paper for filtering. You're gonna let alot more dirt in the engine, especially when the filter is a few feet from the ground. Have fun ruining your car. If you absolutely have to have an intake, I recommend the K&N fipk short ram. You can always get a cone paper filter for it as well. But it's really the best intake for our cars. Other metal intakes have a tendency to get hotter anyway...

New will be around $215 shipped after discount from robearracing.com. It's worth it, and you don't lose low end like the other intakes. Definately better than stock, and it's made of hard plastic. After trying both with my setup, I won't be using the stock airbox anymore. Only negative--K&N filter isn't very good at trapping small particles, but you can always get a paper one for like $14 like I did.

Plastic won't heat up as much or as fast as metal. If you hold a metal intake, it might burn you. And you always want cooler air entering the engine. cooler air=higher O2 density=more power. Not much, but worth getting.

All the cold air intakes by AEM, Ingen, etc make only 1-2hp if you're lucky. The K&N is dyno proven to give up to 5whp in the higher rpms.

Well, it's really up to you. Some ppl like the AEM short ram, some dislike it. Whatever intake you get, you wont be "feeling it" too too much.... unless you plan to go on track and .001 second is important.
