Well I was perousing the ebay and I came across this intake:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=36680
I was wondering if anyone had seen this intake on a car before or if anyone had and experience with it... It looks like a nice intake that might actually do some good, as I've heard many cautionary tales about cold air intakes like aem and others... I've been looking for a decent intake for a little while now and was just wondering if this is another generic product or something actually worth while.... =P
ive seen it before on a car a freind up here has works great in dry dust free weather
there is no fliter and if you get in a good down pour your going to get water in the engine
other than that it is great.

i have one!!
i absolutely LOVE it!! and it DOES have a filter....
and that auction you are looking at is a RIP off... my was $42 (they start off at $40) here is an auction from the person i bought it from
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2451244727
this seller is the original one (as u can tell by the clear pics). and the reason im saying original is because i looked for intakes constantly on ebay, and he was the first one who had them for sell (a bunch of them)
it looks and sounds great

actually not original. (although I get what u're saying)
I'm not sure on the manufacture of the intake, but SSautochrome usually just sell OBX or whatever else generic products and have their logo stamped on.
in fact I'm surprised they went and got their logo stamped on. thats a lot of trouble.
the intake seems to work good, although I'll recommend everyone to get the dimensions of the filter and try to get a replacement ones..
generic filters are usually colored pinked paper filters.. not very high quality... made to look like a multi-layer K&N cotton filter, so yeah.
check on K&N's site for possible universal filter that fits.

i had one of these and absolutely hated it!
the bracket that goes from the pipe to the engine mount broke after 2 weeks of use. it is very very very cheaply made and is not worth a penny.
save up some money and get a K&N FIPKII to save yourself some trouble.

jwalker has one and his metal thing fell off too, but it didnt effect anything with the intake. it stayed put and did its job.
and i'll say do the opposite, spend a little money on this intake instead of a crap load on a k & n because you will get the same amount of hp im sure, and this one also looks really nice.
when i pop my hood everyone expects to just a normal intake... then they see what i have and are like "wow"
but it depends on how you are. if you like to spend alot of money to get the best quality stuff, then dont get this one.
but im all about saving money and still getting nice stuff, which is what i did here.

I HAVE ONE!!!!!! sorry, didnt see this thread until now. The bracket is made out of plastic, so it breaks after a week, yeah. But the front of the cf shroud bolts onto the front radiator support, so its all good. It does have a very different look, and there is a cone filter inside the cf shroud. I have had no problems with it taking in rain at all in the several months I've had it. There is also a small hole in the bottom of the shroud, so that if any water gets in there, it will drain out. Im in the process of trying to find a replacement K&N filter for it; I think that will make it a very nice intake, for not much money. I'm done.
