I said easily will hold 12-15. It's always better to say lower then to know the limit and have a unexperienced kid do it and block it due to lack of fuel or something he doesn't know about you know? Compression on the NA motor would be around 11:1 and for the FI would be anywhere from 8 to 9:1. You can buy the parts from us if you like. We have pushed that shortblock to 22 psi with just the blockguard, so it can be pushed a lot higher then I said. Sleeving would be an additional $500

Maybe now that there are people like you and SF power are making some serious modifications for our cars, there will be others who will start taking the D17 seriously - other aftermarket parts companies might actually follow through on their promises (*cough cough*, AEM, *cough*)....

based on my calculations and what i paid for things
pistons 550
rods 650
bearings 250
oil pump 1-150?
water pump 1-150?
block guard 1-150?
total on the high end is 1900
so that means they want 800 bucks to put it back together, plus the shipping will be a hundred bucks

Dang. I always get on here, and struggle to answer all the questions. Now that would be a good thing, hehe. Anyways. As for the NA Motor the difference is Eagle Rods, Block Guard, and Forged Pistons, and it will run just fine on lower octane probably around 89, but I would recommend 91. If you want to buy the parts alone it would be $500 for Pistons, $400 Rods, Blockguard would be on you, Fuel Pump I think around $200 somewhere, and bearings run around $200 or so. The tranny work can be done we are working on type's of gears that can come in. I think I got it all taken care of, let me know if I missed anything

$2700 For Turbo Shortblock, and $1800 For A NA Shortblock
