Individual throttle bodies are not really street conditioned, that civic was built for the track, because usually they rebuild thier engines after races anyway

Since I have a silver car I am either painting just the Vtec with my touch up paint or I am going to do the cover itself in my car color and leave the Vtec black. Any suggestions.

it would be hard to leave vtec black but you can do it covering it with tape carefully on the letters and then just peeling it offbut you have to be careful just to take the tape and not peel away other paint too, just prime it all, paint it all silver and then touch up the vtec with black if u want that black its easier

i was told that the touch up paint will not work b/c it only has a heat index of 250 degrees. they said it would peel, but i found some engine enamel that was clear that i will prob get to go over the whole thing anyways. os i dont see why you couldnt do the touch up paint, then overcoat it with the clear enamel

I used the touch of paint and it hasnt pealed i mean there was times when it was about 100 degrees out side in the summer and u kno the hotter outside the hotter the engine bay even when its not in use. Well summer is gone and the paint still there. If u want to throw a clear coat on top of it for more protection.... go ahead it would hurt or if u want to use some other paint i guess its ok. but for me so far so good....

I only did mine a couple days ago so I dont really know if it'll peel yet but so far so good, but I have a question for anyone who did their spark plug caps, I undid the bolt holding it on and started taking it off but it was attached to the spark plug and the wires under the wire cover, I'm guessing the spark plug covers dont seperate? how did you color them?

I might just get some Arctic Silver and throw it on the whole thing then get some non-gloss jet black and throw it on the Vtec. Thanks for that suggestion.

I took the cover and the sparkplug caps compleatly off...The caps are athached to the wires under the cover there should be a clip holding the cap and the wires together. Just simply unclip it and they come apart..I maked everything but the cap to paint it... if u cant find the clips let me kno ill take a pic of my cars caps and point da clips out 4 u..

I wanna paint my cover too guys!! lol I was planning on matching the valve cover with my intake which is polished/chrome...Should i get alumnium paint or go all out with the chrome paint? Im leaning towards the ladder.. I wanna see that sh*t shine! hehe. Now is it better to paint the whole cover including the letters or mask the letters with tape?

aluminum paint is a silver color and it doesn't shine like it's polished. i did my battery tie down and the 2 screws on the cover with aluminum i'm gonna do the letters in it too but i haven't got to it yet.

mask the letters with tape if you wanna do them a different color, but if your not then don't. make sure you spray at a good distance from it cause if you spray close it'll cause runs and drips in the paint and you DO NOT WANNA REDO that crap. i had a run problem with the spark plug covers.

naw you don't paint the battery, actually there is a cover around it that you can paint like i did. you can take it off by undoing the tie down and you can pull the cover right up. i used the same spray engine paint on everything.

okey.. i know some of this might be a little off topic, but here goes..
alright, well, i painted my wire cover, i need to re-do it cuz the letters turned out like crap...
anyways, i have 2 questions...

1) i took the spark plug caps off, and forgot to put the freakin bolt that holds it down.. does anyone know where to get those? i tried autozone and pep boys, it was a no-go..

and

2) how the hell do you paint the spark plug cap without ****in' anything up..? look at the pic for a visual description...

btw, PICHY2G, i used the pics you posted for demonstrative purposes only... hope you dont mind.. my digital camera isnt working...

the paint i used for the wire cover is the Plasti-Kote ANODIZIT spray paint (both silver base coat and a blue top coat) and i used touch up paint for the lettering.. plz help.. thanks in advanced..
