np....its what i was looking for so i thought id make a thread with all the intakes in it.....that volant looks soo cool...seems functional.

This is how i see it....The cold air duct and less restrictive filter allows for more HP. Its also made out of polyethylene which insulates the intake system providing cooler and and not as affected by heat in the engine.

And the Box allows for air to expand and become more dense which is good for low end power.(thats just my understanding) So it should be a great all around intake..But i would like to contact volant and get some dyno or any power info.

The filter is also optimized to provide the best airflow...

would there be enough air flow with the box?
how much is it?
anyone has more info about volant intake?

-The volant is probably the most expensive intake ive ever seen.
-The long part under the box is a cold air duct by the tranny(air is cooler there), its what it sucks up air and then passes through the specially designed filter for maxium airflow.
-The box is very beneficial it allows for colder air and lets you keep your low end power.
-Me and YS are trying to get more info lowest price I found is 249.99 free shipping.
-Ill get a group buy going if i see there's atleast 10 ppl interested...expect to still pay around 200 bux

$259 for the ICEMAN intake???? it's like SRI but using Plastic or something like that , it still sucks hot air from engine ......... VOLANT is the best intake i find so far after Racer design intake

Well the iceman is actually a well thought out intake, they will most likely come out with a cold air system later. But that SRI is very well though out...The way they have it wider allows for ALOT of airflow and a looud sounding intake. AND since its also made out of hard plastic (polyuthrene) it will not conduct heat as metal intakes would...So when it gets hot in your engine bay that plastic wont get as hot and will keep the air cooler. But yea thats WAY too much for that. Id have to see some concrete dyno numbers to spend over 200 on an intake. But im positive that that iceman intake is better than the intake i have now.
But i think the volant looks cool enough to spend the money on

yea, that Volant looks cool...actually more of a "stock" looking instake than the others only much more cool....I'd probably get one in a group buy.

Guess what...I found out why there's like no information about the volant cold air system...here's what i found out
"Volant moved their manufacturing facility several months
ago and will not restart the assembly of the Civic intakes until they have
"fit-checked" the intake to make sure the manufacturing process is correct.


We called Volant this morning and were told they are waiting for the test
vehicle, and assuming there are no problems, they could be back in
production soon. We have this product currently on backorder and should
receive them as soon as they start production."

So it looks like no one can get this intake anytime soon. DAMN

BUT i did get a group buy. 15 off 250 for 10 buyers 25 off 250 for 20 buyers. and its free shipping.

i found that racer design intake for 90.00!!
i thought it looks cool, but it sits right above the header; no matter what it's made of, it'll still get hot

also on this intake, you cannot get a diffrent filter, (k&n, AEM, weapon-R, ingen, etc.) the filter is skinny and long, cone shaped, maybe find a k&n, for like a stock cobra mustang or somthing....
