RS*R catback exhaust

This is probably one of the best quality systems you can buy for your 01-05 civic ex. Made mainly for coupes, it will also fit sedans with minor exhaust hanger bending. It will also stick out more on the sedan, unless you have a rear lip installed.

Pros: very sleek stock look, small tip, black ceramic coated muffler and piping, no resonator, nice deep tone, perfect 2.25 inch piping, no rattles on car frame.

cons: very heavy muffler, weighs almost 40 lbs compared to the stock 15lbs muffler. After long distance driving (an hour or more), exhaust note can become annoyingly loud. If you are lowered more than 1-2 inches, expect to scrape a hole in the piping. The paint will start to flake off after a year or two, which isnt very noticable under the car anyway.

after long trips how loud can it get gear? Like fart cannon loud? or does it ever get raspy? Last question: around what RPM's is its sweet spot, ya know where it really has that nice deep low tone?

Re: RS*R catback exhaust

maybe 40mph or so? is when it will be most noticable. when it gets hot, its crazy loud like unbearable, kinda like you have 15 inch subs blasting. doesnt change the tone, just gets VERY loud. for normal street driving, it is not too noisy. also gets louder in summertime.

Re: RS*R catback exhaust

here is a new pic a few years later after a fresh coat of hi temp paint on the muffler. its still holding up well and all i did was put a dent in the midpipe from going over driveways lol.

Re: RS*R catback exhaust

Nice review. This was my top pick for an exhaust when the time came, however the weight you posted concerns me.

Re: RS*R catback exhaust

yeah, the noise is fine for normal driving like 30 minute trips or less it doesnt get very loud. the weight i was shocked but for now im gonna keep it. i took out my spare tire and tools so it almost evens out lol. i think this is the heaviest exhaust you can buy, which is weird considering it does not even have a resonator. even the midpipe is heavier than stock.
