So I picked up this 95 ex that had a b16a swap now I'm not mechanically challenged but I am new to the whole vtec thing I've read that your knock sensor has something to do with when the vtec kicks in and ive also read that its rpm's and oil pressure controlling different cam lobes or something like that any way the engine seems to run well minus a little noise (it theirs something common a heads up would be cool) not 100% sure the vtec it kicking in but when the guy installed it he spliced the harness at every sensor ect. and there seems to be no plug for the knock sensor an throws a code for it every time any info on what needs to be done would be great like do I need the knock sensor for vtec or what harness will work / plug and play or rewire???
