Done light problems
i bought a 94 civic coupe from a buddy and the dome light wont go on its weird because when the passenger door opens it goes on but if i try the switch on the roof it wont go on and when i open the driver side it wont go on either need help.......
Re: Done light problems
There's a little button where the door fits into the car. I can't remember with your model but, it should be in the door hinge area. If not, it's at the rear of the door area. When the door closes it pushes that button which breaks the light circuit, thus turning the light off. Look for a bad connection and if there's no bad connection(s) replace it.
Re: Done light problems
that button also turns on the beeping from the ecm to let u know the keys are in the igniton when the door is open and that works on mine so now im just gonna look for a break in the power side

Re: Done light problems
take out the dome light and look behind it. sometimes either the connector is corroded or the switch is not making contact. you can test the wires coming in and that will tell you for sure.
Re: Done light problems
The door switches and the roof switch complete the ground (negative return) side of the circuit, so if one door switch works, but the rest don't, check their contact surfaces, and if the switch on the lamp itself doesn't work, check its ground connection.
