OBD1-USB or OBD1-OBD2-USB
OBD1-USB or OBD1-OBD2-USB
1993 Civic EX D16Z6
I am trying to figure out a way to get a EMP(Engine Management Program) hooked up to my car. I got the software, I got the laptop, I just need to know how to hook it up.
Ive seen some EMP's hook up to the OBD diagnostic boot. But I have seen some hook up to a Jumper harness, straight from the ECU. If I am gonna use Flashpro (Hondata) software, Does it -need- to go in a certain place? Like the Diagnostic boot, or the actual ECU jumper?
Also, I cannot find a OBD1-USB cord. I find OBD2-USB. Does that mean I need to get a OBD1-OBD2 harness, Then a OBD2-USB? Or is there a way I can wire this up manually?
I have extra OBD1 ecu boots, Which I plan on making a jumper(Like for testing continuity of ECU wires)
... I just need some input before I do all this, Because I never experienced this before, Let alone, ever seen it.(The EMP's in use) I dont want to get 90% through what I thought needed done, and find out it wont work any way. Really dont wanna spend $1.5k on the AEM ecu and program. Lol
Even though I should.
