I have had a alpine cd player and speakers installed at best buy but the radio reception was terrible. So they installed a new after market booster antenna that sticks to your windshield, this made it worse to even non existant. I know little about wiring or radio installation. Need help or suggestions.:

did they hook up the "power antenna" wire in the harness? sometimes this is necessary because the car contains its own booster that needs power, even if you have a stationary antenna. i have alpine deck and the fm is like cd quality.
