Starter won't turn
Starter won't turn
My 92 hatchback cx needs a new motor but is still running, until yesterday. It's been taking awhile to start it for the last few weeks (did not want to drive it, other car in shop, afraid of ceasing motor) it started yesterday after work than I had to shut it off and when I went to start it again it wouldn't crank at all. It would make a humming like sound when you turned the key. I was able to push start it to get home. I have never experienced this issue and have no idea what's wrong. Some please HELP A.S.A.P.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am stuck at my home in the mountains need HELP A.S.A.P.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some one please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Starter won't turn
Manual trans?
Do you see broken pieces of a small rubber or plastic disc on the drivers floor?
The small pad is attached to a tab on the pedal, that contacts the clutch pedal safety switch, it can break apart then the switch no longer makes contact with the pedal, starter can't work.
Auto trans: Put shifter in N and try it?
If no, then Google 'how to troubleshoot a starter'. If you decide the starter itself is not the problem, you may want a good wiring diagram to see what is involved on your particular car.
