help please

hello all i'm working on a 94 civic 1.5l changing the thermostat housing and there is a metal pipe behind it and i see to get it out any ideas? thank you

Looks like 2 long bolts hold it to the head, and the pipe is sealed by an O ring that is probably stuck in the stat housing and is hard as a rock.
