I don't have any particular place to recommend but...
Last time I did this, I found it was well worth my time to check out the business with the online Better Business Burea (BBB) for that area.
Even businesses that aren't registered with the BBB have records, ratings, and comments.
Read the complaints filed and how they were resolved.
If there are repeating complaints that are unanswered or unresolved, especially if they are similar issues, run away.
Everybody in business has some customer whom they can't please, but when you see the same problem repeated with multiple customers, its time to look out.
PS- after checking out the place I did use, I did have an issue, and they took care of it as well as I could expect.
