Just bought a 95 Civic Dx with manual trans. On 2nd motor. Not sure why, though. Previous owner replaced clutch and had a short throw shifter put in, he had it installed in a shop. While in 3rd gear if not going fast enough it will pretty much pop out of gear, but if I am holding a fast steady speed it is fine. When I asked him about that he said it has to do with the shop changing the specs on the gear and that it has a (sorry if this is the wrong term) large power band in the gear, it certainly seems to be able to reach high speeds while in the gear. All other gears are fine. Is this a problem? Its my first car, And I want to learn all I can, and have fun while doin it. I like it but It seems strange to have it happen. I usually just put it back in. Happens mainly in the city. Should I try and take it back to the shop?
