Rep Power: 170 Fuel Pressure Question
How long does the fuel system stay pressurized after you turn the car off? (94 civic dx 1.5)
Just wondering if the system should hold a certain pressure after 10 or 12 hours or even 24 hours.
Still having problems with the hard starts when the engine is cold. Since the last update I replace the fuel pressure regulator, dizzy, and map sensor with no change. I sprayed some starting fluid in the TB and it seemed to start much quicker. It makes me think that the fuel system is leaking pressure after is sits and the fuel is draining back into the tank.
I want to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel filter and see what the pressure is after it sits, but wanted to make sure the system should remain pressurized first.
Thanks.

The fuel system will slowly lose pressure over time, they all do it. That's why the pump will prime for 2 seconds when you turn the ignition to ON(II), to raise pressure back up. If fuel pressure is ok (should be around 40psi) then it's not the pump or filter. That probably means it's bad/clogged injectors.

Just an update. Got the car back from the mechanic today. After going through all the different levels of trouble shooting and checking sensors and fuel injection cleaning and valve adjustments and everything else, it was finally determined that the issue was a problem with the ECU. Replaced it with a used one and it fires right up.
Thanks for the help.
