93 civic automatic can only recognize drive

93 civic automatic can only recognize drive
I just bought a 93 civic automatic and I am quite stumped. Every gear you put it in it thinks its drive! even in park. Theres a plastic arm and connector next to the shifter handle that seems to be broken. Is this the shift lock? I am new to civics so any help is appreciated!
